ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Maranacook Community,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Trudi Cormier as the newest member of the Maranacook Campus Administrative Team, effective July 1.

Trudi brings to this role a strong record of service to our students and school community. As a member of our mathematics faculty and as Student Senate Advisor, she has demonstrated a consistent commitment to student engagement, leadership, and a positive school culture. In her new position, she will primarily serve as the High School Athletic/Student Activities Director and will also oversee all 6–12 sports in collaboration with the Middle School administration. Additionally, she will take on a small role as an Assistant High School Principal on our administrative team.

This appointment reflects a broader restructuring of athletic and administrative leadership on the Maranacook campus. We are transitioning from a single 6–12 Athletic Director model to two coordinated, building-anchored roles: Ms. Cormier as the High School Athletic/Student Activities Director and Assistant Principal serving grades 9–12, and Greg Hughes as the Middle School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director serving grades 6–8. He will also assume his new role on July 1.

Athletics oversight for grades 6–12 remains unified through a defined partnership between the two positions, with shared responsibility for coach hiring and evaluation, facilities and transportation scheduling, MPA compliance, and event coverage. This structure distributes the demands of evening and weekend event coverage more sustainably, strengthens the relationships each administrator builds with students, coaches, and families in their building, and preserves the strong 6–12 athletic program our district has built.

We were fortunate to consider several candidates through this search. Trudi distinguished herself through her dedication to building a culture of achievement and participation for all Maranacook students, and I am confident she will serve our athletic program and our school well.

Trudi will continue as Advisor to her senior class this year. To support her transition to this demanding new role, she will be assigned a co-advisor to assist her and her advisees.

We will post a new high school mathematics teacher position in the immediate future. In the meantime, please join me in congratulating Trudi Cormier on her new role.

Sincerely,

Superintendent Smith
